ITINERARY
Upon your arrival at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, you will be warmly greeted by our local guide and driver. They will escort you to your hotel in District 1, a journey that typically takes around 60 minutes.
After checking into your hotel, you’ll have the rest of the day to unwind, explore the city, or simply relax. Please note that standard check-in time is 2:00 PM. Early check-in may be possible, subject to hotel availability and potential additional fees.
Begin your day with a pickup from your hotel, followed by a visit to the Independence Palace, which served as the residence and office of the Presidents of South Vietnam. During our tour, we will explore the North Vietnamese tank that famously stormed the palace in 1975, marking the conclusion of the Vietnam War. The five-story palace has been meticulously preserved in its late 1960s and 1970s style, including its bunker basement. Next, enjoy a leisurely walking tour as we head to the Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral, a stunning example of French colonial architecture constructed between 1863 and 1880. This picturesque landmark is a highlight of the city. Continuing our journey, we will stroll towards Nguyen Hue Walking Street, where you will encounter the iconic Saigon Central Post Office. Designed by the renowned architect Gustave Eiffel, this beautifully decorated building remains an operational post office and is a must-see attraction.
After a break for lunch or refreshments (at your own expense), we will visit the War Remnants Museum, one of the most visited sites in Ho Chi Minh City. The exhibits provide a comprehensive perspective on the Vietnam War, offering insights that may differ from common narratives. To conclude the day, we will explore Ben Thanh Market, the city’s most famous market, which has been in operation since 1870. This vibrant market not only caters to the daily needs of local residents but also serves as an excellent venue for purchasing affordable souvenirs and sampling authentic Vietnamese street food.
Return to your hotel, where you will have the option to either relax or further explore the city at your leisure.
Leave from your hotel to visit the most striking place in the history of the Vietnam War, the Cu Chi Tunnels. Cu Chi is a real underground city made up of a large network of tunnels covering an area of over 250km long where the Viet Cong conducted the war of resistance against American troops. All of the tunnels were dug over a period of twenty years using only pickaxes and shovels. The tour includes special entering some part of tunnels. You will also have a chance to visit Ben Duoc memorial temple nearby but far less touristic built in 1993 in memory of the Vietnamese killed at Cu Chi. Continue to visit one of the most sacred attractions in Vietnam – the Cao Dai Temple. Caodaism is a uniquely Vietnamese religion that is influenced by elements of Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism and even Roman Catholicism. On a visit, you can attend the midday mass.
Have lunch at local restaurant then transfer back to hotel in the afternoon.
After having breakfast at the hotel, you will meet our tour guide and driver for your transfer to Cai Be. On the way, you will visit the Cao Dai temple. Upon arrival, immerse yourself in the vibrant life along the famous Mekong River by exploring the canals adorned with orchards. You will also visit craft workshops that produce rice popcorn, coconut caramel, and rice cakes. You can choose to bike or walk along the village paths to discover the ancient and picturesque Phu Chau pagoda, where tranquility prevails, and interact with the local residents. Enjoy lunch at an open-air restaurant, where you can savor a renowned local dish, the elephant ear fish. To conclude your day, relish seasonal fruits while rowing a small boat through the canals, surrounded by fruit trees. You will return to Saigon in the late afternoon.
Pick up by private car for 4.5-hour transfer on the national highway to Mui Ne, the paradise of beaches and sand dunes in the South of Vietnam. When arrival, check in your hotel and enjoy your beach escape holiday.
Unplanning in advance is the best way to explore Mui Ne. It’s easy to rent a motorbike or tuk tuk at any time. We advise you to go to sand dunes for sportive activities, leisurely visit town’s highlights or just free and easy on the white sandy beaches with blue water.
Meet at your hotel for a private transfer back to Saigon. Enjoy a 4.5-hour journey through various cities and villages in Southern Vietnam. Stops will be made for photos along the way. Upon arrival in Saigon, you will be dropped off at Tan Son Nhat Airport in Saigon.
