Northeast Vietnam Motorbike Tour: Ha Giang | Jem Travel

Get ready for a truly unique experience riding powerful motorcycles as you explore Vietnam’s remote and fascinating Northeast.
You will begin your journey in Hanoi, the bustling capital, and then board an overnight bus that will take you to the Ha Giang region. From here, guided by experienced Easy Riders, you will enter an enchanting landscape of steep mountain passes, ethnic villages, and breathtaking views.
You’ll pass through the magical towns of Quan Ba, Dong Van, Lung Cu and Meo Vac, delving deeper and deeper into the remote border regions on an itinerary full of thrilling twists and turns and beautiful natural scenery.
After reaching the legendary Pac Bo, and the spectacular Ban Gioc waterfall, you will return to Hanoi for a well-deserved stop at the majestic Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This adventurous tour will give you an unforgettable experience of timeless landscapes, genuine encounters with ethnic minorities, and the thrill of driving on scenic winding roads. An adventure that will be forever etched in your memory.

ITINERARY

Reception by the driver (without guide) at the airport exit (recognizable by the sign with your name), after collecting your luggage and completing customs procedures. Transfer and hotel accommodation will be provided.
Rooms will be available from 2 pm. Early check-in is not included, but can be requested for an additional fee.
The rest of the day will be at your disposal (guide, transportation and sightseeing not included).
In the afternoon, we will take you to discover the city of Hanoi by Vespa. Our team will pick you up and guide you through the narrow streets to the Old Quarter, where you will visit the French Quarter and the Opera House to learn about colonial rule.
Then we will take you to see the railroad tracks and the lives of residents within inches of the trains. We will continue to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, from which you will get an overview of the city.
You will explore the Botanical Garden and Huu Hiep Lake, where an American bomber was shot down. We will also pass by the West Lake and Thanh Nien Street, to visit the John McCain monument.
Finally, we will take you to the bustling An Duong Market, Red River Island, and banana and kumquat plantations, before stopping to enjoy a Vietnamese coffee.
To conclude, we will take you to a local restaurant for lunch and then drive you back to your hotel.
Transfer to Ha Giang from Hanoi. 7:30 pm: Take the premium Sleeper bus to Ha Giang. You have a free bed for you in your homestay upon arrival at 3:00 am for a nap and breakfast before the tour starts ọn the next morning.
Check into your hotel in Ha Giang City early in the morning, around 3:00 a.m., and enjoy a nap and breakfast before the tour begins.
After breakfast, you will have the opportunity to visit the white Hmong minority village and then we will continue to Dong Van, the only stone plain in Vietnam. Along the way, you will take short breaks to see some sights such as the Heavenly Gate, the fairy mountains, and the Hmong village, where you can appreciate their traditional weaving technique. You will not miss a visit to the charming village of Pho Cao. After a lunch break, in the afternoon you will visit the village of the Lo Lo, a local ethnic minority. Before ending the day, you will make a stop at the Royal Palace of Hmong King Vuong Chi Sinh, a historical site of great significance since colonial times. For the night, you will have the option of staying in a homestay or hotel in Dong Van.
Dong Van is a district that borders the mountains of China and is characterized by a limestone plateau, recognized as a UNESCO geological park. This place is incredibly beautiful and fascinating, allowing you to feel the grandeur of nature that has created numerous pinnacles, stacks, and spectacular geological formations. It is an immense space dominated by mountains, rivers and streams, where the sky seems to merge with the earth and white clouds act as umbrellas for the rice fields.
Breakfast at the hotel. Early morning departure to reach the northernmost point of Vietnam – Lung Cu – where you can see the border between Vietnam and China. Continue to Meo Vac by crossing the Ma Phi Leng Pass, which rises to over 2,000 meters above sea level, to take a short hike up the mountain of the same name (Ma Pi Leng Skywalk) and enjoy the picturesque view of the valley of terraced hemp fields, karst hills and the stilt houses of the Hmong and Dzao people. In addition, you will take a boat trip on the Nho Que River.

Depart for Pac Bo Cave, one of the highlights of the tour will undoubtedly be a visit to the legendary Pac Bo Cave, where Vietnamese leader Ho Chi Minh found refuge and inspired the struggle for independence. You will explore the underground tunnels and admire the stalactite and stalagmite sculptures that give the environment a mystical charm.
In addition to Pac Bo Cave, you will have the opportunity to admire breathtaking natural scenery: waterfalls, crystal clear lakes and breathtaking views of the mountain ranges. Along the way, our village stops will allow you to savor the true essence of Vietnamese rural life.

Tour from Pac Bo to Ban Gioc Waterfall in Cao Bang, a UNESCO Global Geopark. Cao Bang boasts stunning landscapes of limestone mountains, rivers, and lakes, home to over 10 ethnic minorities.

Our journey showcases breathtaking views, rural villages, and rice paddies. We’ll visit Tay and Day minority villages and explore the Geopark’s spectacular scenery. After lunch, we’ll continue to Ban Gioc Waterfall, one of Asia’s most beautiful.

At Ban Gioc, you’ll witness the vast cascade and enjoy a sampan ride close to the falls. The waterfall marks the Vietnam-China border, split between the two countries.

Our day ends with a ride to a local village for an overnight homestay, immersing you in the region’s culture.

Around 7:45-8:15 a.m., you will take a shuttle bus to Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
On the way, you will stop to visit Hai Duong or the ceramic city of Dong Trieu.
Upon arrival in Halong, you will be welcomed aboard the ship to begin your cruise into the bay, admiring thousands of limestone islets emerging from the emerald waters. This karst area is world famous for its spectacular landscapes of caves and caverns.
You can enjoy the tranquil beauty and breathtaking scenery from the ship’s deck, with its bat-wing shaped sails, gliding over the clear waters and seeing small islands, sheer cliffs, beaches and coves.
You will make a stop to visit a floating village.
You will stay overnight in a private cabin on board in Halong Bay.
In the morning, you will continue to spend your time on the cruise. A sunrise Tai Chi class will help you recharge your energy for the new day. You will enjoy the sunrise over the sea with a breakfast at a beautiful restaurant overlooking Halong Bay. You will visit a cave, then check into your cabin as the ship returns toward port. The shuttle will take you back to Hanoi.
Around 4:30 pm, you will arrive in Hanoi and check into your hotel. The remaining time of the day, you can relax at the hotel or explore the Old Quarter on your own.
